-
- %JR% Last year my staff for the first time, completed all
- %JL%end-of-year written reports on children for parents via
- %JR%PipeDream. This was a major exercise for us. Advantages are
- %JL%obvious. However this produced more work than expected, with
- %JR%some requiring substantial editing for spelling and
- %JL%grammatical misadventures. Many hours were spent thoroughly
- %JR%checking the written material before reports could be signed
- %JL%and dispatched to children's homes. To overcome that problem
- %JR%arising again, a Macro dBase has been developed where the Alt
- %JL%Ascii values from 127 through to 255 [covering the
- %JR%international key set] have been redefined each with a
- %JL%paragraph of text. This will allow those teachers who find
- %JR%report writing via computer difficult, to use a shortcut
- %JL%system. Great care is being taken to ensure that comment
- %JR%quality is high and that an appropriate choice range is
- %JL%provided. To be more precise teachers will be encouraged to
- edit each comment following selection.
- %JR% My intention is that the text files will provide a readable
- %JL%reference for teachers locking comments to an ascii three
- %JR%digit numeral. To input, the teacher needs to
- %JL%double click on the relevant macro, and then enter Alt plus
- %JR%the relevant ascii number at the keypad for chosen comments.
-
- %JR% To provide sufficient comment options, several macros have
- %JL%been completed. The full set of these together with the text
- files for each is included.
-

- %H1%TitlePage
-
- %JR% This is a Poster desktop-equivalent file which produces the
- %JR%title page for the school's end of year report form. A master
- %JR%printout was obtained using an inkjet printer. This was then
- %JR%used to photocopy high quality report front-page-title forms
- on school-blue 120 gramweight copycard.
-
- %H1%Sample
-
- %JR% An example of a completed PDream report for a slow learner.
- %JR%This file will be printed onto the
- %JR%titlepage described above using the default printerdriver
- %JR%Pica. This was prefered to a Risc-OS printer driver because
- of printing speed.
-
- %H1%SampleMT
-
- %JR% This provides an empty report form onto which Macro-defined
- comments may be input.
- %JR% Note that it is necessary to enter the child's first name in
- the title section of the Options page.
- Window this by holding down Control and touching 'o'.
-
- %H1%A_RdgLang
-
- First load EmptyReprt.
- Then double click on RdgLang
- %JR% Position carat at the position where predefined text is
- required.
- %JR% Hold down the ALT key and type in the 3x digit number on the
- key pad.
- Continue process until language sections have been completed
